Drivers face fuel shortages in Milton Keynes as Stop Oil Protests take place

We have received hundreds of messages from residents asking about fuel.

The British Retail Consortium told MKFM that there are currently fuel supply issues due to Stop Oil Protests.

Today, around 100 protesters have disrupted key oil terminals in England, and drivers in across England are starting to notice issues.

The protests are taking place to demand that the UK government stops new oil and gas projects.

Ronan, one protester who slept overnight a site in Hertfordshire, told Sky News: "This is an ongoing campaign so there is no end date to it. Our message is that direct action and civil disobedience is only going to ramp up until we see change in the right direction.

"It's just incredibly sad that it takes action like this to force change, but as long as we don't see change, activists will stand up and force change."

Andrew Opie, Director of Food & Sustainability at the British Retail Consortium, told MKFM:

“Retailers are adept at dealing with disruption and will do everything they can to ensure their customers can continue to fill up their vehicles as usual.”
