MK Dons back in relegation zone following 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers

Dons beaten for the first time in five games this afternoon with a 2-1 home defeat against Blackburn Rovers at Stadium MK.

Despite dominating large periods of play in the second half, Dons couldn't break down the Blackburn defence.

The result leaves the Dons in the relegation zone on goal difference as AFC sit above them with a game in hand.

Adam Armstrong scored the first goal for the away side in the 12th minute, with Blackburn doubling their lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half, with another goal from Armstrong.

Dan Micciche made two half-time changes, bringing on Keiran Agard and Scott Golbourne.

The changes made an impact as Agard swung in a cross for Pawlett to get a goal back for Dons in the 72nd minute, but it wasn't enough for the Dons to get a point this afternoon.

Dons fans will feel aggrieved as multiple penalty appeals were turned down. But ultimately, Rovers showed why they are currently top of League One.

MK Dons next game is away at 3rd place Wigan on Saturday at 3pm.
