'Do not attempt to drive through floodwater': Three people rescued by firefighters after car is stranded

People have been reminded not to attempt to drive through floodwater following the warning that there is still excess water on roads across Milton Keynes.

This follows the heavy rain that most of the country experienced over the weekend when Storm Alex caused heavy downpours.

Local areas, including underpasses, lakes, and parts of housing estates, have flooded.

And roads have also been heavily impacted by the rain, especially Little Linford Lane in Newport Pagnell which has been closed due to "localised flooding affecting the lane".

Ringway, which is responsible for maintaining Milton Keynes' highways network, warned people "do not attempt to drive through floodwater".

However, in the early hours of this morning (6/10) firefighters were called to rescue three people stranded in their car down the lane.

One appliance and crew from Broughton and the Water Rescue Unit from Newport Pagnell attended.
