Delays on M1 southbound near Milton Keynes as vehicle breaks down

Around 30 minutes of delay are expected on the M1 southbound between junction 15a (Northampton Services) and junction 15 (Northampton/Wellingborough) after a vehicle has broken down.

It is reported that two lanes have been closed and a number of traffic officers are on the scene.

Attempts to fix the vehicle in question are currently underway but have not yet been successful.

Congestion is starting to build on approach towards the impacted area, with around 30 minutes of delay to be expected. The average speed is currently measured to be only 15mph.

It is unknown when this incident will be resolved.

19:03 UPDATE: All lanes have now been reopened and traffic is beginning to return to normal.
