Cracking Easter in Milton Keynes

With Easter just around the corner, it’s time to thinking about ways to keep the kids busy over the school holidays.

There are so many incredible events to visit, support and take part in and here’s a few to get in your diaries…

Teddy Bear Hunt at Willen Lake

From 4 April until 18 April, Willen Hospice will be hiding 20 teddy bears around Willen Lake and nearby areas and your mission is to find them.

Each family taking part will receive a list of clues to help them find each teddy, as well as some fun trivia questions. The entire route is just over three miles and can be completed all at once, or over a few days- perfect for little ones!

For just £10 per family, the Teddy Bear Hunt will include one entry into the free prize draw to win a sweet hamper and cuddly teddy bear and an emailed Willen Hospice pack which includes a children’s sponsorship form, fundraising ideas, a children’s colouring-in sheet, and a recipe for safari cake pops.

FREE Easter fun thanks to Milton Keynes Council

MK Council is funding more than 5,500 FREE activity sessions for children and young people

Between 11 and 14 April, the Easter fun programme will help families with children in receipt of benefit-related free school meals, offering a huge range of indoor and outside activities.

From egg hunts to cinema trips, cheerleading, team sports and baking, young people in Milton Keynes will have the chance to make new friends and learn new skills whilst receiving free healthy and nutritious meals.

The Council is working with 16 local clubs, schools, charities and organisations to provide the activities alongside events offered by its own Children and Family Centres and Music Hub.

This new programme builds on last year’s extremely popular Summer of Play that delivered more than 30,000 fully funded activity sessions and saw 28,000 free meals served to local families throughout August.

Easter Family Fun at Bletchley Park

Do you think you could take on the mission to crack the Easter egg code? This Easter holidays, families can go on an Easter egg hunt around Bletchley Park.

With secret codes on each of the eggs, you’ll have a chance to work out the hidden word and collect a small prize if successful. The trail will be filled with lots of puzzles and other activities too, keeping the whole family busy and entertained.

Families can also enjoy one of Bletchley Park’s activity drop-in sessions, all about enigma machines on selected dates throughout the holidays. Have a go at making your own model Enigma machine and use it to create your own secret messages.
