Councillor secures two more open spaces in Bletchley

Councillor for Bletchley Park, Elaine Wales, has secured two more open spaces for the Bletchley Park community as part of her commitment to ‘greening Bletchley’.

Councillor Wales has again worked closely with MK Council and West Bletchley Parish Council to facilitate securing two linked areas of open space on Flowers Walk and Faulkner Drive and a nearby area of woodland. The land has been transferred from MK Council to the Parish Council with a commuted lump sum of over £280,000 which will ensure the areas receive landscaping, play equipment and ongoing maintenance.

Cllr Elaine Wales said: “We have worked hard to secure these lovely open spaces and the woodland for the Bletchley Park community, now and into the future, and I’m proud that I’ve been able to ensure they are protected.

“Over the last year especially we have been reminded just how valuable our open spaces are to residents and securing open spaces is key to the ‘greening’ of Bletchley.

“The securing of these areas, as well as other recent successes, highlights the positive relationship between Labour led MK Council and West Bletchley Parish Council and I’m committed to continuing this partnership to the benefit of Bletchley’s open spaces and residents."
