Coronavirus cases appear to have stabilised in Milton Keynes but five more hospital deaths announced

    New coronavirus cases appear to have stabilised in Milton Keynes, but five more hospital deaths have sadly been announced today.

    Although cases are still high, the number of new positive tests remains stable with 334 being recorded today, according to the latest data.

    This is slightly lower than yesterday's total of 347, and Wednesday's figure of 346.

    The total number of cases in Milton Keynes now stands at 13,036 - 2,551 of those have been recorded in the past seven days. 

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has risen once again, going from 959.3 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 968.2 cases per 100,000 people today.

    Sadly, five deaths were recorded today at Milton Keynes University Hospital. All five deaths occurred on 6th January. 

    Nationally, 68,053 positive test results have been recorded. The UK has recorded its highest daily increase in the number of COVID-related deaths of the pandemic, with 1,325 fatalities.
