Milton Keynes school forced to close after multiple confirmed coronavirus cases

Langland Community School in Netherfield has closed from today (21/10) due to multiple confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Yesterday, parents were contacted informing them that one staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

Pupils in Key Stage 1 and 'Acorn' were told to self-isolate.

But today the school has stated they have had a further three confirmed cases which means the school must now close.

A text message was sent to parents just after 7am this morning and a letter was later sent to the whole school.

The letter, dated 21st October, says the school has identified their child has "been in close contact with the affected member of staff" and must now self-isolate for 14 days.

This self-isolation period will last until Wednesday 4th November which marks two weeks since contact.

Langland Community School will reopen on Thursday 5th November.

MKFM has contacted Milton Keynes Council for comment.
