An application has been lodged with Milton Keynes Council in a bid to turn the former B&M site in Bletchley into a car sales dealership.

The B&M store on Watling Street, Bletchley has been sat derelict its closure in 2017. The application has labelled the site as being a "focus for anti-social vandalism".

The application, submitted by Motorpoint Limited, will be reviewed by Milton Keynes Council for a decision in the next few weeks.

If accepted, the plans include a £1.5 million investment into the redevelopment of the site.

The car dealership would create 40 new jobs in Milton Keynes.

The proposed development would keep the existing access to the site from Watling Street, it currently provides 39 customer car parking spaces.

Submitted alongside the proposal, the statement reads: "The layout of the site comprises of a single storey retail unit on the western part of the site with vehicular access from Watling Street at the north western corner and car parking on the eastern part of the site. There are some mature trees on the Watling Street frontage.

"The site has been vacant since 30 July 2017 and in that time has been the focus for anti-social vandalism and is now dilapidated and somewhat of an eyesore."
