Captain Tom Moore, who lives in Marston Moretaine, has been sent at least 25,000 100th birthday cards so far.

The WW2 veteran, age 99, has raised nearly £28 million for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday - 30th April.

People up and down the country have since been writing, drawing, and painting birthday cards to send to Captain Tom.

According to the BBC, The South Midlands Mail Centre has dealt with 25,000 cards so far. It is expected that the number could rise even further before Captain Tom's birthday at the end of the month.

Steven James, Centre Manager, said: "None of the team have ever known one person receive so much mail."
