Video shows car fire as M1 blocked near Milton Keynes with long delays reported

There were long delays on the M1 Southbound earlier today between J15 at Northampton and J14 at Milton Keynes due to two vehicle fires in the roadworks area.

Video footage from the opposite side of the motorway earlier showed one vehicle on fire with all other traffic being held back.

Northants Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at around 7.45am this morning.

There were delays of 90 minute earlier with all lanes closed, but traffic has now returned to normal.
