'Trespass incident' on the railway in Wolverton causes earlier disruption with Police in attendance

Train services were affected this morning after Police were called to a 'trespass incident' on the railway near Wolverton.

Members of the public reported seeing officers at the station, and Network Rail said that the incident was causing disruption to rail services.

Sharing information about the disruption, Network Rail posted online: "There is a trespass incident in the Wolverton area. As a result, trains between Coventry and Milton Keynes Central may be cancelled, delayed or diverted."

It follows disruption earlier this morning between Coventry and Rugby on the same line due to an unrelated fault with the signalling system.

The exact nature of the 'trespass incident' is not yet known.

Train services have now returned to normal.
