Families have started to move into brand new flats built by Milton Keynes City Council in Conniburrow.

The brand new flats on Coltsfoot Place, Conniburrow, include some of the 'highest quality' energy efficiency materials to help keep bills down.

There are 18 brand new two-bedroom apartments which include photovoltaic roofing, this generates electricity through solar panels, saving costs for tenants.

Residents also have access to a large car park with electric vehicle charging points.

The new homes in Conniburrow are part of the City Council’s biggest and greenest council house building programme in a generation.

Cllr Emily Darlington, Cabinet Member for Adults, Housing and Healthy Community visited Rebecca who recently moved into Coltsfoot to find out how she’s settling into her new home.

Cllr Emily Darlington said: “A new council home is a new start in life for those that need it. That is why we are building more council homes and making sure they are green for the environment and to reduce our tenants' bills.

"As Rachel says, it brings hope and a chance to build memories in a real home. There is a real need for affordable housing across MK and new council homes is part of the solution.”
