Black ice warning as road temperatures set to plummet tonight in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Council are warning motorists about the dangers of black ice as road temperatures are set to plummet in the city tonight.

Officials are expecting freezing road surface temperatures down to minus four degrees later.

The team from Ringway have already been out gritting Milton Keynes roads this afternoon.

In a tweet, a council spokesperson said: "Take care if you're out and about on the roads, redways and footways."

"Always drive to the conditions and clear all vehicle windows before setting off."

Met Office forecasters say temperatures will hit around minus one degree tonight, however road surface temperatures are often a few degrees lower.
