The Giffard Park pub is selling all of its surplus stock and is allowing NHS staff to purchase items including fresh vegetables, meats, and drinks before anyone else.
"We are doing this because we have seen so many stories about NHS staff not being able to get supplies or food for their family after working gruelling long shifts due to all the panic shoppers," said Owen Chapman, the pub's landlord.
NHS staff now have the option to purchase the pub's surplus stock at either less than, or equal to, the purchase price.
Fresh vegetables for sale include cucumbers, red peppers, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. The price of the vegetables vary, ranging from 50p for a cucumber to £2 for 1kg of sliced onions.
Over 300 eggs are in stock, with 6 eggs on sale for £1.
Various meats are available, most of which have been frozen and will last for four weeks. Ribeye, sirloin, 8oz rump, 5oz rump, 7oz gammon and 4oz gammon steaks are available. Bacon, sliced turkey, sausages and chicken and ham pie's are also on offer. Prices range from £1 for sliced turkey, to £8 for 7oz gammon steaks.
Other items are for sale, including alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, fresh fruit juices, and fizzy drinks.
On Friday, like many other pubs across the country, The Giffard Park temporarily closed. "We were not sure what happens next but realised after the dust settled that this was an opportunity to help the people that are helping us, so we decided to create this shop for NHS staff," Owen added.
"We will arrange pick up times [with] each person on what times are good for them to make life easier for them."

NHS staff can place an order over the phone (01908 210025) or via the pub's Facebook page. All items are sold on a first come first served basis. Payment is on collection. NHS workers will have to show ID upon collection.
