71 patients currently being treated in Milton Keynes Hospital have coronavirus according to latest data

    The latest update tells us that 71 patients being treated at Milton Keynes University Hospital have tested positive for coronavirus, with none currently being treated on ventilators.

    The latest data, released by the government weekly, includes people admitted to MK Hospital who tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to their hospital admission and those who tested positive in hospital after admission.

    The data, which tells us how many patients are being treated in MKUH, tells us that as of Tuesday 18th January, there are 71 patients being cared for in MK Hospital, with none being treated on a ventilator.

    585 positive tests were recorded locally yesterday, taking the total number of cases to 68,689 since the start of the pandemic.

    Nationally, 107,364 people tested positive in the UK.

    This comes as it was announced on Wednesday (19/1) that Plan B restrictions are being scrapped from next Thursday. Children no longer have to wear masks at school milli,ons of people will return to the office and masks in shops will now be scrapped.

    Covid Passes are also being scrapped as part of the change.

    All coronavirus data is provided by the government and NHS, no further information is provided on the variant, age, gender or the patients vaccination status.
