A record-breaking fundraising night boosts support and services for people with learning disabilities in Milton Keynes.

Local charity MK SNAP says it has been left 'overwhelmed' by the generosity of the local community at their 30th Anniversary Mayor’s Ball hosted by the charity’s patron, The Duchess of Bedford at Woburn Golf Club on Saturday.

Over 140 guests managed to raise £52,000 for MK SNAP’s education and life-skills programme supporting people with learning disabilities to live active and rewarding lives in our community.

MK SNAP provides a programme of education, life skills, work preparation and opportunities for work to adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities.

“To every individual and business that has supported this event and made it happen, we are truly grateful and humbled,” said MK SNAP’s CEO, Angela Novell.

Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Amanda Marlow, who made MK SNAP her chosen charity of the year said: “It was an absolutely wonderful evening and an incredible amount raised.”
