347 coronavirus cases and five hospital deaths recorded in Milton Keynes today

    There have been 347 coronavirus cases and five hospital deaths recorded in Milton Keynes today, according to the latest data.

    Cases appear to have stabilised for the first time in weeks as yesterday 346 cases were recorded. This takes the total number of cases to 12,702 - 2,640 of those have been recorded in the past seven days. 

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has risen once again, going from 945.2 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 959.3 cases per 100,000 people today.

    Sadly, five deaths were recorded today at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Three deaths occurred on 5th January and two on 6th January. 

    Today has also seen another large increase in covid cases nationally. The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 52,618 - and another 1,162 people have died, government figures show.
