279 new coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes today and 8 further Hospital deaths

    There were an additional 279 new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes today according to the latest data.

    It brings the total number of cases in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 15,279 - of which 1,868 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate in the city has fallen further from 754.9 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 691.4 cases per 100,000 people today.

    For comparison, the 7-day case rate is 779.6 in Bedford, 488.1 in Central Bedfordshire, 818.6 in Luton and 526.4 for the UK as a whole.

    At Milton Keynes Hospital, 8 further coronavirus-related deaths have sadly been announced - 6 of these happened on Thursday and 2 yesterday.

    Nationally, an additional 41,346 people tested positive for the virus and 1,295 sadly died within 28 days of a positive test.

    3,559,179 people have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine nationally.
