250 new homes to be built in historic market town near Milton Keynes

It has been confirmed that a new development of 250 houses will be built in Olney, a market town in the Borough of Milton Keynes.

National homebuilder Taylor Wimpey has received Reserved Matters consent to build the homes on land off Yardley Road.

Last month, Milton Keynes Council gave the developer the green light to deliver a collection of two to five bedroom homes in collaboration with Vistry Homes.

Work is scheduled to begin as early as November 2020 with the first show homes ready to view in March 2021.

Fiona Lloyd, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to receive the go-ahead from the local authority and hope to start work in the coming months. As ever when building new homes, creating a community that our buyers feel connected to is very important and so we hope to not only provide quality homes, but also to ensure that we are giving something back to the local communities in which we build.

“We expect to receive a huge amount of interest, so I’d urge anyone interested in quality, new homes in the area to visit our website and register their interest to make sure they are kept up to date with the latest information.”

As part of the planning agreement, Taylor Wimpey will make contributions to local education, healthcare, transport and arts initiatives as well as providing a new community hub with leisure facilities.
