165 coronavirus cases and two hospital deaths announced in Milton Keynes today

    There were 165 new coronavirus cases and two hospital deaths announced in Milton Keynes today, according to the latest data.

    The latest update brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 17,380 - of which 1,015 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has fallen today from 452 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 416.8 cases per 100,000 people today.

    Nationally, an additional 29,079 people tested positive for the virus. Due to an issue with the processing of deaths data, the national deaths in all settings (including care homes) have not yet been announced.

    But there have been two deaths announced at Milton Keynes Hospital today. They both took place on 27th Jan.

    In more positive news, today it was revealed that nearly 80% of over 80s in Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire have been vaccinated.

    Just last week, MKFM revealed that over 52,000 total doses had been administered locally - and now that total sits at 94,554.
