10 year old girl from Milton Keynes pledges to run '10k a day for 5 days' to raise money for the NHS

A 10 year old girl from Milton Keynes has pledged to run '10k a day for 5 days' alongside her father to raise money for the NHS.

Jada and her father Ruel Dacosta, from Shenley Brook End, have decided to take up the challenge after sadly losing a family member to coronavirus.

Posting on their GoFundMe page, Ruel said: "On 31st March 2020, our Nanny Barbara past away to this horrible virus. We wanted to do something to support of all the hard work the NHS is doing during this time and raise money for them."

"We’re challenging ourselves to run 10k everyday for five days straight totalling 50km."

"Jada is just 10 years old so this is going to be a huge challenge. We aim to do it in just five runs of 10km each and in around one hour for each run."

"We are starting on the 20th April 2020, the day after my 35th birthday, and the day of Nanny Barbara's funeral which due to the current situation we are not able to attend. She will be in our hearts and our thoughts as we tackle this huge challenge."

So far the duo have raised over £1,000 for NHS Charities Together and you can donate by following this link.
