10% increase in inpatients with COVID-19 in past 24 hours at Milton Keynes Hospital

Milton Keynes Hospital has seen a 10% increase in inpatients with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

CEO Joe Harrison said there were now more than 220 patients with COVID-19 at the Hospital.

He added that the intensive care unit at the Hospital remains "near to capacity".

Mr Harrison added: "We are working tremendously hard through this very challenging period."

"Hospital services remain open - we are here if you need us."

It comes as a 'major incident' has been declared covering the Milton Keynes area by the Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum.

The incident has been declared because there are growing pressures on the NHS across the region as infection rates continue to rise at a rapid rate.

Milton Keynes is now part of a 'national lockdown' in force across England with residents being told to stay at home.

Joe Harrison will be on MKFM tomorrow evening from 7pm answering your questions.
