Staff self-isolating disrupts Milton Keynes train services

London Northwestern Railway have released travel advice to those planning on travelling this weekend after seeing a spike in self-isolations and short-term absence.

Due to a spike in self-isolations and short-term absence following vaccinations, London Northwestern Railway may need to cancel some services at short notice this weekend.

In a statement on their website, London Northwestern Railway have said: "Whilst we always do our best to have enough drivers available, there may be occasions when we need to cancel services due to shortages. This is more likely around popular dates to book annual leave. With England reaching a major final for the first time since 1966, we expect fewer members of train crew will volunteer for overtime on Sunday.

"This means we are very likely to cancel some services on Sunday and we are urging passengers to think carefully about their travel plans and check their journeys."

If you’re planning to travel with London Northwestern Railway on Sunday 11 July, please keep the following in mind:

    • Services to and from London will be busier than normal between 12.00 - 19.00 and after 12.00
    • For safety reasons, London Northwestern Railway services will not call at Wembley Central, if you’re travelling to/from Wembley Stadium, you are advised to change onto TfL services to complete your journey
    • There will be limited services from London Euston post-match.
    • Customers living north of Milton Keynes should not plan to travel home by train after the game
    • You must wear a face covering on trains and at stations (unless exempt)
    • As per the latest Euro 2020 travel advice, those without tickets to the EURO finals are advised against travelling towards Wembley

You can find more information on the website.
