Following their great success with ‘The Gondoliers’ in 2018 and ‘Iolanthe’ earlier this year, Wolverton Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents ‘The Sorcerer’ - a plot which turns the entire English social order upside down!
The villagers of Ploverleigh are celebrating the betrothal of Alexis to a maiden of suitably high rank, the lovely Aline. Alexis wants the world to be as happy as he is, so he hires a sorcerer to create a love potion which is given to all the villagers through an innocent cup of tea during the betrothal banquet. All who drink it fall asleep and, when they awake, they fall madly in love with the first unmarried person they meet. This is where the fun begins as, under the influence of the potion, they do fall in love, but with people out of their own social class. Chaos ensues… but can order can be restored? You will have to come and see for yourself!

Set in the 1940s, the production is directed by Graham Breeze with musical director Mike Crofts. Why not join the cast in dressing 40s-style, if you wish.
