Welcome to Chicago in the 1920s, where the gin is cold and the piano’s hot. Vaudeville stars are all the rage, and none are more famous than Velma Kelly – on trial for the murder of her husband and sister. But new kid on the cell block, Roxie Hart, has just arrived, fresh from killing her lover. And Roxie is looking to steal Velma’s thunder, as well as her lawyer, the smooth, fake-news merchant Billy Flynn.
A hit on the West End for more than 20 years, Kander and Ebb’s story of jazz, liquor and fame has wowed generations of theatre goers with hit numbers such as ‘All that jazz’, ‘Cell block tango’ and ‘Razzle dazzle’. And now Company MK is proud to present this all-new production of Chicago.
So join us for an evening of fleeting fame, merry murderesses and a silver-tongued prince of the courtroom!
This show is unsuitable for people under the age of 12.
This amateur production of Chicago is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD.
Book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse
Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
