Great Linford Waterside Festival 13 074The fabulous FREE Great Linford Waterside Festival is one of the biggest free community events in Milton Keynes and it takes place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th June 2012 at Great Linford Manor Park

The event's been an established part of the Summer calendar in MK for over ten years and features a diverse range of musical acts and attractions to keep everyone entertained.

  • Friday 6.30pm - 9pm
  • Saturday 11.30am - 8.30pm
  • Sunday 11.45am - 5.30pm

The weekend has a fabulous start on Friday evening in Linford Manor Grounds, where there will be a ‘Picnic in the Park’ with great music for everyone.

All day Saturday and Sunday there will be a full programme of live music, including many local bands, arts, stalls and attractions in the grounds of Great Linford Manor Park.

Stage 2 gives enthusiastic young people the opportunity to perform music or poetry on stage.

On Friday Night at the Waterside Festival will go back to its intimate roots this year, with three small stages entertaining picnickers across the beautiful grounds of Great Linford Manor. Featured artists include performers from the Waterside's acclaimed series of all-acoustic indoor shows.

Have you ever wanted to perform at a summer festival? You can this year at our new Open Mic spoken word stage, organised in conjunction with Stony Stratford’s Scribal Gathering. Just go down to our tent (by the ponds) on the other side of Stage 2 and sign up! Or just come down and listen: we have poets, singers and storytellers, refreshments and comfy chairs. SPORTS DISPLAYS

Archery will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, from the beginning of each day up to 4pm.

On Saturday, GLFC junior teams will be showing exhibition matches.

On Sunday, you can have a go at Korfball between 12pm and 4pm.

MK PLAYBOAT

MKPA's Funion Bargee will be on the canalside again between 12pm and 4pm, with play and arts activities.

BICYCLE RIDE

12 mile cycle ride around the Sustrans Millennium Circuit, organised by Phil Ashbourn. 

Meet outside the Manor on Saturday 15 June at 10.15am, ready to leave at 10.30am. You'll be back in the Park by 12pm!

ARTWORKS MK

The courtyard will be a hive of heritage craft themed activity with green wood workers and blacksmiths sharing their knowledge and skills with opportunities to have a go at making giant spoons, or create structures inspired by the intricate designs of our blacksmiths and a chance to work with Branch-Out MK to create a willow seating sculpture to be installed in the Artworks MK courtyard.

Their young people's forum For'm will be in the barn garden, manning their heritage hut and offering a programme of activities. Heritage themed refreshments will be on sale in the Artworks MK café.

The Almshouse artists will be throwing open their studios doors, welcoming visitors and providing a chance to hear more about their practice.
