As part of the Godiva Awakes celebrations, Milton Keynes City Orchestra put on a spectacular classical music performance in Campbell Park on 1st August 2012.
The concert was conducted by Hilary Davan Wetton and featured soloist Martene Grimson performing a range of well known pieces climaxing with Rule Britannia and Jerusalem and a spectacular fireworks display,

MILTON KEYNES SUMMER OF CULTURE 2012
This year, Milton Keynes is celebrating its very own 'Summer of Culture' encompassing the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, elements of the National Cultural Olympiad and the city's International Festival.
A range of different events is taking place across the city from May to September, all of which you can participate in. Summer of Culture is supported by Arts Council England and Milton Keynes Council.

Milton Keynes City Orchestra gave its first performance under the baton of its Founder, Conductor Hilary Davan Wetton, in February 1975. Over nearly forty years since, it has built a national reputation, establishing itself as the live classical music resource for Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. Sian Edwards received the baton becoming Principal Conductor in 2007.
