Vigil held at MK Rose following Manchester Arena terror attack

A vigil has been held at the Milton Keynes Rose this evening for the 22 victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack last night.

Around 200 local residents alongside city officials gathered at the Milton Keynes Rose in Campbell Park as part of the event earlier.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr David Hopkins spoke to MKFM, saying he was pleased with the number of people who had come to remember those people who were affected last night.

The event was organised earlier today and publicised on local media outlets, as well as being shared on social media.

An eight-year-old girl is among the three named victims in the attack on an Ariana Grande concert last night, which has killed 22 people in total.

Saffie Rose Roussos was a pupil at Tarleton Community Primary School, and she had been attending the Ariana Grande concert with her mother and her older sister.

Her headteacher, Chris Upton, said her death had come as a "tremendous shock" and he described Saffie as "simply a beautiful little girl".

Georgina Callander also died in the attack, which happened at the end of the concert.

The 18-year-old had posed for pictures with the American singer in the past, and she was studying health and social care at Runshaw College in Lancashire.

John Atkinson was also killed. The 26-year-old from Bury has been described as a "beautiful soul" by loved ones.
