LIVE: Fire crews called to car fire on M1 southbound near Dunstable

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a car fire on the M1 Southbound near Dunstable.

The vehicle fire has happened in the Emergency Refuge area next to the carriageway between J12 for Toddington and J11A for the A5 at Dunstable.

Highways England are reporting that the fire appears to have also spread to the bay drainage system.

Fire crews are on the scene dealing with the issue with two lanes of the southbound carriageway currently being closed.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue are advising motorists to avoid the area.
