It has been reported that another earthquake hit Leighton Buzzard last night (13/9), appearing to be 'less intense' than last week's tremor.

The British Geological Survey (BGS) reports that a 2.1 magnitude quake was recorded 3km south-west of Leighton Buzzard at 11:20 pm.

This comes almost a week after the 3.5 magnitude quake that was recorded in the town last Tuesday morning (8/9) which was felt by thousands of residents in Milton Keynes.

Regarding the most recent quake, a BGS spokesperson said on Twitter: "There have been a small number of reports received from members of the public indicating they felt this earthquake, which is in the same area as the 8 September 3.5 quake. One report describes 'It felt slower and less intense than the previous tremor'".

It is not yet known whether the latest tremor was felt by residents in Milton Keynes, whereas last week people told MKFM that cars and houses 'shook'.

Last week, MKFM  spoke to a man in Far Bletchley who said he felt the September 8th earthquake whilst upstairs at his home but his wife, who was downstairs, did not feel a thing. "I was sat in my study," he said, "then a heavy box under my desk started to shake. It probably lasted about ten seconds and it felt pretty strong."
