Cancer Research UK are the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
Cancer Research UK have saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Their life-saving work is entirely funded by the public. None of it would be possible without the generosity and commitment of the millions of people that support them.
What They Do
Cancer Research UK's aim is to save lives from cancer. More people are beating cancer than ever before thanks to their work and your support.
They work in the areas where we can make the most impact:
* Research – they support the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK to investigate all aspects of cancer.
* Information – they work to prevent cancer and help people cope with its effects by providing information for cancer patients and their families, health professionals and the general public.
* Influencing public policy – they campaign to keep cancer at the top of the health agenda.
Local Events
If you want to get active and raise money for Cancer Research UK, there’s a wealth of events you can take part in locally. They range from the flagship, women-only Race for Life at Campbell Park, to the popular Run10k at Stowe. Relay For Life celebrates the lives of people touched by cancer, and Get On Your Bike is a sponsored Bike Ride organised every year in MK by Cancer Research UK community volunteer Carol Osbourne and supported by MKFM.
Details of all local events appear on the Events section of this website and also at Cancer Research UK's website.
