The parade was be led by St Patrick, followed by Milton Keynes Pipe Band, then walkers, Irish dance groups, all carrying banners and flags, people dressed in irish costumes (including some leprechaun and 'lucky jim' costumes), and the local Samba Band plus MKFM's Samantha The Panther and our Black Panther vehicle decorated with lots of bunting and balloons.

Non-Irish people are equally welcome to join in the fun, said the organisers:
"It doesn't matter where people were born, or what nationally they are. People all over the world celebrate St Patrick's Day," she said.
The Irish Centre, situated at Bletchley's Manor Fields, has a thriving membership of Irish families. But there are many more people from the Emerald Isle living in Milton Keynes.
"So many men came over from Ireland in the 1970s and early 1980s to help with the construction work involved in building Milton Keynes. Many of them settled here and now have families of their own. This is a chance for them to remember their roots and enjoy being Irish."
